Goal:  To establish a professional online presence that highlights its innovative wireless power transfer technology and services while generating leads and attracting potential clients. It will provide detailed information about their consulting process and case studies to build credibility.

ABOUT

Xondas: Xondas advances wireless power transfer technology through engineering consulting & technology development focused on resonant magnetic induction.

Xondas need for a website.

PROBLEM

Xondas had no existing website, limiting its capacity to attract customers, boost sales, and enhance brand visibility. This highlighted the necessity for a website that could effectively showcase the company’s wireless power transfer technology and services, enhance customer accessibility, and create a strong professional online presence.

PAIN POINTS

Meeting their needs.

During our first week of the internship, we held a meeting with Xondas to understand their needs, goals, and objectives. By asking questions about structure, audience, and content, we aimed to ensure that the final website would showcase Xondas's wireless power transfer technology and align with their strategic vision. Based on our discussions, Xondas seeks to position itself as a consulting business by offering insights into:

  • Company Overview: A summary of the company’s mission and values.

  • Services and Capabilities: A presentation of specialized equipment and analytical capabilities.

  • Case Studies and Achievements: Showcasing success stories and visuals of projects.

  • Gallery: A collection of high-quality images featuring equipment, lab setups, and past work.

Decision Drivers & Consulting Trends.

RESEARCH

Shout out to my partner Aidan during this internship for completing this!

We identified direct and indirect competitors in the consulting industry to gain a comprehensive market perspective. Each competitor's website was assessed for structure, design, and user experience, highlighting best practices and areas for improvement. Conducting a competitor audit is crucial for understanding the market landscape, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and benchmarking performance. This process uncovers effective content strategies and user experiences, informing our website design and enhancing brand positioning.

Understanding our Target Audience.

AUDIENCE

To effectively connect with potential clients, we conducted thorough research to identify and understand our target audience. This process included developing a buyer persona, which provided valuable insights into the following aspects:

  • Demographics: We analyzed professional backgrounds of our audience to tailor our messaging and offerings.

  • Pain Points: We identified the specific challenges and needs that our target clients face, allowing us to position Xondas's services as effective solutions.

  • Service Expectations: Our research revealed what potential clients seek in consulting services, such as expertise, responsiveness, and tailored solutions.

By understanding our target audience, we can create a website and marketing approach that resonates with their needs and effectively showcases Xondas offerings.

SITEMAP

Creating a detailed sitemap, which involves:

  • Defining the Structure: Organizing main sections for user flow, such as the homepage, about us, services, case studies, resources, gallery, and contact us.

  • Prioritizing Content: Identifying key pages and ensuring easy access from the homepage.

  • Mapping User Journeys: Understanding how user personas navigate the site for clear pathways to important information.

  • Collaboration and Feedback: Collecting input from the Xondas team to refine the sitemap.

Creating an effective sitemap is crucial for developing a user-friendly website that aligns with Xondas goals and meets its target audience's needs.

Layout + Improvements.

WIREFRAMES

Based on various feedback from my partner & Xondas team, I continually iterated my design: The next step is to create wireframes for the Xondas website, outlining key pages like the homepage and services. This will establish structure, define user flow, and place essential content. Collaborating with the Xondas team will ensure alignment with their vision

Feedback I received:

  1. Homepage: Positive feedback on the layout; remove the "Book a Consultation" option to encourage customer to contact directly to Xondas.

  2. Footer: Simplified to include only the company logo and address for a cleaner look.

  3. Services: Added a detailed paragraph describing the technologies offered to enhance clarity.

  4. Capabilities: Retained strong capabilities but limited to three key highlights for greater impact.

  5. Past Work Section: Focused on three top case studies to showcase the most significant achievements effectively.

  6. Contact Us: Removed the image for a more streamlined design.

LESSONS

What I learned.

  1. Always take initiative: At Xondas, I've discovered the importance of being proactive. Whether it's tackling new tasks or suggesting improvements, taking the initiative has allowed me to contribute meaningfully and grow my skills.

  2. Embrace new challenges: Just because something is unfamiliar doesn’t mean it’s unattainable. This internship has shown me that with a willingness to learn, I can overcome any challenge. For example, creating a style guide to ensure brand consistency was new for me, but by immersing myself in research and design principles, I successfully developed a guide that was helpful.

  3. Research is essential: Research is the backbone of effective problem-solving and decision-making. From selecting the right color palette and typography to understanding industry trends, thorough research has been crucial in ensuring that our design choices are informed and strategic.

  4. Balance expectations: Learning to balance the company’s expectations with user needs has been a valuable experience. At Xondas, it’s important to create designs that not only align with the company’s brand but also resonate with our users. This balance is key to creating a successful and user-friendly website.

Thank you!
